Installing
- Open the downloaded disk image and drag VolumeLens to Applications.
- Launch it. Choose a folder or volume in the panel that appears, or drag a folder onto the window — that choice is the permission.
- This pre-release build is not yet notarized by Apple, so macOS will warn you. If you choose to continue, open Applications, right-click VolumeLens, choose Open, then confirm. Verify the SHA-256 first.
- To remove it, quit the app and drag it to the Trash. Its data lives in one folder inside its sandbox container and goes with it.
Before you download
What it can read
Only the folder or volume you pick, and only names, sizes, dates and kinds. File contents are never opened.
What it changes
Nothing, unless you select items and confirm a move to the Trash. There is no permanent delete anywhere in the app.
What it sends
Nothing. There is no network code in the app. Turn off Wi-Fi and everything works.
